Skullcandy has taken the wraps off the newest entry in its Crusher wireless headphone lineup, and this time the company has brought in Bose to help solve one of the line's long-standing challenges. The newly announced Crusher 1080 ANC integrates several Bose-owned audio technologies — including adaptive noise cancellation and head-tracking spatial audio — into a headphone design built around Skullcandy's signature bass-boosting approach.

Since its inception, the Crusher series has set itself apart from competitors by pairing full-range drivers with dedicated bass drivers inside each ear cup, working together to amplify deeper frequencies. Skullcandy has been transparent about the fact that pushing the bass to extreme levels can degrade overall audio quality. The Crusher 1080 ANC represents the company's latest effort to address that compromise, this time with Bose's engineering expertise on board.

Redesigned Drivers Aim for Clarity at High Volume

At the heart of the Crusher 1080 ANC are redesigned drivers featuring a stiffer diaphragm material. The headphones support multipoint pairing, enabling users to connect to and switch between multiple devices without hassle. Additional convenience features include automatic reconnection, wear detection that pauses playback when the headphones are removed, and a fold-flat design intended to make storage and transport more manageable.

On the connectivity side, the Crusher 1080 ANC is equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, which brings support for LE Audio, low latency audio, and Auracast broadcast functionality — positioning the headphones for compatibility with emerging wireless audio standards.
