Comparing Google Workspace Plans
Google offers four Workspace plans, though only three are aimed at the general public: Starter, Standard, and Plus. A fourth tier, Enterprise, requires direct contact with Google's sales team and is designed for organizations exceeding 300 users. The other three plans each support up to 300 users and carry no minimum user requirement.
All plans provide access to the full suite of Workspace applications, including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Meet. However, the differences between tiers become significant when it comes to storage capacity, AI functionality, and meeting features.
Starter is positioned as an entry point for freelancers and small businesses. It includes 30GB of storage per user, a custom Gmail domain, and support for up to 100 participants in Meet calls. Gemini access is limited to Gmail and Vids. The plan does not support e-signatures in Docs or advanced Meet features such as noise cancellation.
Standard removes most of the limitations found in Starter. Storage jumps to 2TB per user, and Gemini becomes available across the entire suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet, and Chat. Meet calls can host up to 150 participants, and features like noise cancellation are included. Standard also expands access to NotebookLM, offering different chat modes and up to 20 generative audio overviews per day.
Plus targets larger organizations with more demanding security and administrative needs. Storage increases to 5TB per user, and Meet supports up to 500 participants. The plan adds Vault for data retention and LDAP access for centralized account management. No additional applications are included beyond what Standard offers.
Across all plans, storage is allocated as a shared pool, meaning each additional user contributes to the organization's total available storage capacity.
