Google's budget-friendly Pixel A-series may be getting back on track. According to a leak from Mystic Leaks, the upcoming Pixel 11a is expected to feature a flagship-grade Tensor G6 processor, reversing a controversial decision made with the current-generation Pixel 10a.

The Pixel 10a's Processor Problem

When Google launched the Pixel 10a, many consumers were caught off guard by the company's choice of silicon. Instead of equipping the device with the Tensor G5 found in the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, Google opted for the older Tensor G4. This represented a significant departure from the established pattern for the Pixel A-series, which traditionally carried the same modern processor as its flagship siblings while trimming costs in other areas.

The decision to use a previous-generation chip was widely regarded as a disappointment among followers of the lineup. For years, the A-series had offered a compelling value proposition: near-flagship performance at a lower price point, with compromises made elsewhere in the hardware.
