The witches of American Horror Story are officially back. First set photos from the production of Season 13 have surfaced, confirming that the new episodes will continue the story first introduced in 2013's "Coven" — the anthology series' third season and one of its most celebrated runs.
The images, captured in the Soho neighborhood of Manhattan on July 9, offer the latest glimpse at what fans can expect when the horror anthology returns to screens this fall.
Familiar Faces Lead the Coven's Return
American Horror Story veterans Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts headline the first batch of set images, reprising their roles from the original Coven storyline. They are joined by returning cast members Frances Conroy and Gabourey Sidibe, both of whom have been staples of the Ryan Murphy-created anthology across multiple seasons.
The network had previously hinted at the Coven continuation when it released a first-look photo of Paulson in July, accompanied by a caption that read: "The Return of @mssarahcatharinepaulson as Cordelia Goode. The Supreme Rises. And yes we have rebuilt the entire Robichaux Academy."
That confirmation was enough to send fans into a frenzy, as Cordelia Goode was the central character in the Coven narrative — a storyline centered on a secret academy for young witches.
A Star-Studded Cast Grows Even Larger
The set photos also reveal several new additions to the coven. Leslie Grossman, a frequent collaborator in Ryan Murphy productions, appears alongside Avantika and Alex Consani, both seemingly new to the witch-centric storyline. Cara Delevingne and Charlie Carver were also spotted on the New York City set.
FX had already announced that Season 13 would mark the long-awaited return of Jessica Lange, the anthology's most iconic star, who has not appeared in the franchise since 2018's "Apocalypse" season. Lange's involvement alone represents a major event for the series, as her performances in early seasons helped establish American Horror Story as a cultural phenomenon.
