Rhoda Magbitang, the chef who captured the title on Season 23 of Bravo's acclaimed culinary competition Top Chef, has secured new representation. She has signed with Buchwald and Leigh Taylor Public Relations+ Talent Management, a move that positions her for broader visibility across entertainment, hospitality, and lifestyle media.
A Culinary Journey From the Philippines to Top Chef Glory
Originally from the Philippines, Magbitang relocated to the United States at the age of 17 to pursue formal culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. Her early career immersed her in some of the most demanding and celebrated kitchens in Los Angeles, including the Michelin-starred restaurant Mélisse, Suzanne Goin's A.O.C., République, and Bazaar by José Andrés.
Before her breakout television appearance, Magbitang had already built an impressive resume. She served as executive chef at the iconic Chateau Marmont before taking the helm of the culinary team at The Inn at Mattei's Tavern, part of the Auberge Collection, which earned recognition from the Michelin Guide. Most recently, she made history as the first female executive chef at CanoeHouse at Mauna Lani, another Auberge Collection property.
Top Chef Season 23 and the Path to Victory
Season 23 of Top Chef concluded on June 8, with Magbitang emerging victorious from a competitive final round. The season was judged by Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons, with Kristen Kish serving as host. Magbitang reached the finale alongside fellow contestants Sherry Cardoso and Laurence Louie, where each finalist prepared a four-course meal to determine the winner.
Her win on the long-running Bravo series elevated her profile significantly, opening doors to new professional opportunities and partnerships that extend well beyond the kitchen.
