Amazon has lifted the curtain on its long-awaited Blade Runner streaming series. Titled Blade Runner 2099, the show will arrive on Prime Video on November 25th, with all eight episodes released simultaneously. The announcement follows a set of first-look images shared the previous day and comes paired with the series' first official trailer.

Blade Runner 2099 features Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer in leading roles. The series is helmed by showrunner Silka Luisa, who previously led the Apple TV adaptation of Shining Girls. Ridley Scott, the director of the original Blade Runner film, serves as an executive producer on the project.
As the title suggests, the narrative unfolds a few decades after the events of Denis Villeneuve's 2017 film Blade Runner 2049. Amazon first confirmed it was developing the series in 2022, making this premiere the culmination of a multi-year production effort.

Set fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the official premise describes a Los Angeles that has been reborn — though not by humanity's hand. The story centers on Cora, a fugitive who, in a desperate attempt to stop running, assumes one final identity as a Blade Runner.
